Take the guesswork out of your jump distances with the Strides Distance Calculator App, NEW from @strides_equestrian_software and available now from Google Play and the App Store. Figuring out what distance to set between jumps is tricky even for the most experienced course designers, riders and trainers. The jump styles and heights, horse/pony size and the slope of the ground all play an important part. As a long-time rider, trainer and course designer myself I made this calculator a few years ago for myself and I've found it super useful (the maths degree came in handy there). It really needed to be easily accessed in the field though so I've now made it into an App for both Android and Apple devices so its easy for others to use too! Check it out at Google Play and the App Store by searching Strides Distance Calculator. I hope you find it as helpful as I have!Measuring Courses with Strides21

With combination distance getting set longer than they were a few years ago, this poses problems for horses that have a short stride. This episode gives tips on teaching your horse to reach out to the second element. It is ideal for horses that have a short stride or horses that can be a bit hesitant in combinations.Episode 5 Jumping session to prepare for a show
Here I demonstrate how I prepare for a show on my 5yr Kiwi Sundance. When preparing for a show the final jumping session can be vital before the event. Too little jumping and your horse feels unprepared and you both feel rusty, too much jumping and your horse feels tired. When making changes or doing a new exercise, your horse may get worse before it gets better, so this is not the time to introduce anything new. You want your horse to be at its best on the day.Tutorial videos
